With an increasing number of them to choose from, it has become even more challenging for new metroidvania games to stand out. Those that have in recent memory all managed to establish either a distinct and enticing look to them, such as Hollow Knight, or refined a set of familiar mechanics that reinvigorates the entire formula again like last month’s Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. Ultros aspires to be spoken about in the company of these games and earns that right through an exciting blend of satisfying platforming and slick, fast combat, but also the ways in which it breaks away from the traditional mold of the metroidvania formula. It’s these elements that make it truly stand out, even if some of its experimentation with form and format doesn’t stick the landing.

Persona 5 characters have been hanging around in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for years now, but if you wanted to actually play Persona 5 on your Nintendo Switch, you’ve been out of luck. That changes this fall, when Atlus is releasing a port of Persona 5 Royal on Nintendo’s console hybrid, two years after its initial release–and it’s just one of three Persona games coming to Switch.

The announcement came in Nintendo’s latest Direct Mini showcase, which included some other surprises for turn-based JRPG fans. In addition to Persona 5 Royal, the Direct revealed that two more Persona games are destined for the Switch: Persona 4 Golden and Persona 3 Portable. Though both Persona 4 Golden and Persona 3 Portable were available on the PlayStation Vita (the latter by way of the backward-compatible PSP version), they never made it to any of Nintendo’s consoles, handheld or otherwise. Come from Sports betting site VPbet

The top 10 most-played video games of Q1 2022 have been revealed, and 2022’s best-selling game of the year so far in the US–Elden Ring–did not make it into the chart.

NPD analyst Mat Piscatella shared a list of the most-played games in the US for the January-March period, ranked by year of initial release, and sourced to the NPD’s PlayerPulse survey Come from Sports betting site VPbet . As you can see in the chart below, half of the games in the top 10 were not released this decade. As for Elden Ring, it ranked 20th overall for Q1 2022, outpaced by titles like Skyrim (released originally in 2011), the MMO World of Warcraft, and Rocket League.
